Good news: The Prime Day mattress deals are officially underway. Sure, Amazon’s annual savings bonanza includes a bevy of discounted mattresses (including a few we’d wholeheartedly endorse buying, even at full price), but the Zs-friendly sales we’re eyeing right now come courtesy of all the other major players in the space. Every mattress brand worth its weight in proprietary cooling technology is doing its darnedest to keep up with the ‘Zon’s slew of promotions (by extending their July 4th deals or rolling out new ones entirely)—a boon for your aching back, groggy brain, and checking account.
Because we’ve spent countless nights testing mattresses—and lately, plenty of days combing the worldwide web for deals—we’ve found the perfect combination of the two. Yes, a bunch of our favorite mattresses and top-rated cheap mattresses are available for less dinero than usual. More than a few of them are available on Amazon itself (you’ll find them grouped together towards the top, with links to buy the corresponding models), but FYI: when you take into account gratis bedding add-ons, the overall savings on the brand’s own site can be marginally—and sometimes substantially—better. Below, you’ll find all the best Prime Day mattress deals (or, at least, Prime Day adjacent mattress deals) worth your time. Sweet dreams.
The Perennial GQ Favorite
GQ staffers’ all-around favorite mattress is included in Helix’s Prime Day sale. In celebration of the holiday, Helix is offering a tiered promotion, where you can save up to $350 depending on how much you’re spending. The Luxe Hybrid—plus a complimentary set of the company’s dream pillows—can be yours for $250 off by forking over your email information at checkout.
The Best Mattress Deals Also Available on Amazon
Tuft and Needle’s Original mattress is already one of the best we’ve tested in its price range, but right now you can snag it for even cheaper than usual. The brand is taking up to $500 off its mattresses and 15% off its bedding so you can kit out your entire setup on the low.
Casper is nearly always having some kind of sale, and this week is no exception. Right now, the brand is taking up to $525 off its mattresses and bedding bundles, no code necessary. After our most recent round of testing, the Wave remains our pick for best supportive mattress.
Leesa, one of our favorite mattress brands, is offering up to $200 off select mattresses, with some bedding and cushion deals in the mix, too. We’d recommend either the best-of-both-worlds Hybrid Mattress, or the Leesa Original: our favorite plushy, supportive option in the $1,000 range.
In celebration of the holiday (we guess?), Purple is taking $100 off its signature mattress, and adding up to $100 off select gifts too. If you dig the feel of typical memory foam options, but want to sink in a tad less, you’ll like Purple’s selection.
18 More Mattress Deals Worth Checking Out
Zinus earned its reputation as one of the most reliable budget mattress brands in the biz, and right this very moment you can score two of its best-sellers for even less coin than normal. The memory foam option above is a very healthy 40% off.
Allswell is taking 20% off its entire site with code “EXTRA20” right now. For people who prefer a firmer sleeping surface, the brand’s Brick mattress offers enough plushness to avoid that telltale “passed out on the floor” feeling, along with all the flotation you need to avoid folding in half.
Zoma’s four-layered mattresses are made specifically for athletes, and designed with “recovery” in mind. This might not mean very much to you, but it does give the brand cover to bestow each layer of its mattress with a wacky sneaker-tech-esque name. (Triangulex™, Reactiv™, SUPPORT+, etc.) Reviews of the mattress are generally positive, especially from side-sleepers who weigh less than 200 pounds. Both the company’s all-foam mattress and hybrid mattresses are $150 off.
Nectar Sleep is taking $200 off its entire mattress selection, and throwing in $500’s worth of freebies with every mattress purchased—including a sheet set, mattress protector, and cooling pillow. Though we haven’t tested it ourselves, reviewers liken the brand’s cushy original memory foam mattress to a cloud…which means it’s probably best suited for lightweight sleepers who prefer a softer bed.
Our tester gave DreamCloud’s mattress top marks for its bouncy and supportive feel, especially for sleepers looking for a super plush top. In addition to over $200 off on its mattresses, the brand’s throwing in a whopping $600’s worth of added accessories, too.
The Awara Hybrid is one of the best supportive mattresses we’ve ever tested. The company makes relatively simple options, without the different sleep zones you’d find in something like the Casper Wave. The result is a mattress that’s a bit more cloud-like—“soft, yet sturdy,” said one tester. Awara’s current promotion drops the price of a queen-sized mattress by $300 and sweetens the pot with $500 worth of other bedding gear. Plus, the company says they’ll plant 10 trees with every mattress purchased. Pretty good, all around!
Cocoon by Sealy’s chill hybrid mattress is made with hot sleepers in mind, and features a stretch-knit cover that pulls away heat. (We’ve named it our favorite cooling mattress on the market.) In its extended July 4th sale, the Cocoon Chill Hybrid is 35% off and comes with a free set of pillows and sheets.
Aviya’s mattresses line the interiors of swanky hotel chains the world over, and are well-known for being solidly middle-of-the-road plush—and plenty supportive. Now’s your chance to transform your bedroom into a luxury resort courtesy of the brand’s extended July promotion, where you can score mattresses for $200 off in exchange for your precious email information.
Bear’s another mattress brand we have’t gotten around to testing yet (they’re cropping up like mushrooms these days), but its best-selling Hybrid mattress is currently 25% off, along with everything else on its site, in celebration of, well, something. The brand is also throwing in two of its cloud pillows and one sheet set to sweeten the deal.
We’ve never slept on a Nolah before, but this upgraded version of its basic mattress comes with options: One side is softer, for side and front sleepers, while the other is firmer, for back sleepers. It’s not like you’re going to flip your mattress regularly to take advantage—you’re probably one or the other—but the something-for-everyone concept means you’ll likely get what you need. Right now, you’ll get it for $300 cheaper than normal, no code necessary.
Birch’s mattresses are designed and sold by Helix with an added focus on sustainability. They’re great for anyone who wants a plush mattress made with (somewhat) more eco-friendly materials. Right now, the company is offering its mattresses for $400 less than usual in its competing Prime Day sale with the code “BIRCHDAY400.” Plus two free pillows!
Layla Sleep is (mercifully) offering discounts without codes in its summer sale. The company’s Hybrid mattress is $200 off, and comes with two free memory foam pillows. You can also catch some dreamy savings on other bedside accoutrement like Layla’s kapok and memory foam pillows as well as its bamboo bed sheets.
We haven’t tested Saatva’s hybrid mattresses ourselves, but reviews seem to indicate they have an extremely luxurious feel. The Classic mattress falls on the medium-firm end of things with a thick top that you’ll sink into a good bit, making it preferable for front and side sleepers. The company is currently taking $100 off orders of $750 and more, with up to $500 in savings on the table depending on how much you spend.
As its name would suggest, PlushBed’s lineup of mattresses are satisfyingly…plush. They’re also made with organic materials, and crafted according to centuries-old methods of hand-stitching and hand-tufting. Thankfully, the brand is keeping up with the times by extending its July 4th sale, and it’s packed with genuine steals: a wild $1,200 (!) off its signature queen-sized mattress, along with up to $399 in free bedding.
Sadly, Parachute isn’t offering any promotions on its top-notch mattresses at the moment (deep sigh), but keep your eyes peeled long enough and savings are sure to crop up. We haven’t had the chance to test the brand’s Eco Comfort mattress ourselves, but the reviews are great: it’s constructed with a sandwich of support, including a soft and gooey head/foot area for pressure point relief and a tough mid-section for added back support.
Eight Sleep’s Pod Pro mattress just won a Fitness Award for its state-of-the-art advancements, which include the ability to track your sleep metrics down to the last engrossing detail. It also gently jostles you awake with literal good vibrations, and offers heating powers that are isolated to each side of the bed (so you can sleep hot while your partner stays cool). Right now, all that can be yours for $100 less than usual.
The Avocado mattress comes with a slightly more sophisticated design than other “organic” mattresses. The Latex isn’t as supportive as the Casper Wave or Leesa Legend, but it provides plenty of density for comfortable rest. Though the 4th has long since come and gone, the brand is still offering $200 off the organic Latex mattress with the code “SUMMER.” (If you’re in the market for a new bed frame, avail yourself of the savings there too.)
Here’s the good news: Japanese brand Airweave offers mattresses that are fully customizable, down to each individual layer. (Since the mattresses are all buildable, they’re also easy to break down and pack up if you’re moving anytime soon.) Here’s the even better news: Through the 18th, all of ’em are on sale for $200 off with code “SUM2022”. If you dig the idea of passing out on a mattress custom-made to your specifications, this promotion is bound to help you—and your wallet—rest easy.
