This is an image

“The World According to Gayle” is Oprah Daily’s video series spotlighting all things Gayle each and every month. Our editor at large is sharing her favorites of the moment, from buzzy new albums to fantastic restaurant finds you’ll want to try. Check back each month to see the latest!

Stop and think about this for a second—we are officially in the month of June, which means half of the year is already done. Can you believe that? All I can say is I’m glad we have six months left in the year to work on our resolutions. There is so much to look forward to this month, including Pride Month—which is a reminder for us all that love should always be celebrated. And to all the dads out there, we appreciate you on Father’s Day and every day. Here at Oprah Daily, we also like to have fun with some of the holidays, like National Best Friends Day, on June 8, and National Selfie Day, on June 21, so maybe that’s a sign to take some selfies with your best friend this month?

I’ve got a lot of new releases I’m looking forward to this month: three movies I think you must see, a long-awaited album, a new kids’ drink, and a fashion line that will have you ready to bloom all summer long. Dive into all my picks below.

Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse

Brooklyn’s favorite spider, Miles Morales (voiced by Shameik Moore), takes us back to the Spider-Verse for this sequel that, dare I say, may even be better than the first. Following his last adventure, Miles straddles between being a misunderstood crime-fighting super-teenager while finding his place among spiders from other universes, like Miguel O’Hara, who is voiced by Oscar Isaac, Spider-Punk, voiced by Daniel Kaluuya, and Spider-Woman, voiced by Issa Rae. Yet, when all the spiders clash on how to beat a new bad guy, he is forced to stand alone and redefine what it means to be a hero. This movie came packed with twists and turns and lots of jokes. It’s fast-paced and exciting, and it ends on quite a cliffhanger. My prediction is that we’ll be seeing more of Miles, and if you’re curious about what that might be, stay behind for the credits! See it in theaters on June 2.

Kelly Clarkson’s Chemistry

It’s been a few years since we last got an album from Kelly Clarkson, but Chemistry is worth the wait. A lot has changed in Kelly’s life during those years, including a divorce, which—take it from me—is not a fun club to be part of. Yet, she takes a lot of the emotions that come from it and creates something beautiful. I listened to a preview of the album, and it is soulful, angry, sad, and puts all the emotions into words that I wish I had. In one song, “I Hate Love,” she describes how sometimes we “hang on to the good.” Plus, the song features a surprise guest: Steve Martin on banjo! Listen for yourself when the album releases on June 23.

No Hard Feelings

Jennifer Lawrence’s new film, No Hard Feelings, where she stars and produces, is almost here. She plays Maddie, a woman who finds an unlikely solution to her money problems: She’ll get paid to date (and seduce) quirky high schooler Percy. She’s hired by his helicopter parents, who want Percy to finally break out of his shell. Jennifer said when she read the script she “died laughing.” You can catch this new raunchy comedy on June 23.

Hanifa’s spring collection

Back in January, I wore this really cute (and, I thought, original) white-and-turquoise long-sleeved ribbed bodycon dress by Hanifa on CBS Mornings, and I couldn’t help but laugh when I watched this segment of Sherri Shepherd’s talk show where she jokes about wearing the same one! And no, this is not an episode of “B*tch Stole My Look,” because we both wore it well, which is exactly why I love Hanifa—it looks good on everybody. Anifa Mvuemba just came out with her new spring-summer collection, and it’s really fantastic. Anifa, the founder, designer, and CEO of Hanifa, says the collection is “a journey of blooming and is a reflection of rare flowers.” You can bloom in all these fabulous clothes by shopping online right now.

Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny

I’ve seen every one of the films in the Indiana Jones franchise, so I had to include the latest and final installment, Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny, in the lineup of releases I’m excited about. Harrison Ford is back as your favorite daredevil archeologist, and at 80 years old, he’s reprising his iconic role in a new adventure, which is set mostly in 1969. Remember when Oprah and I went to Petra earlier this year? Our tour guide took us to the Treasury and showed us where that famous scene in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade was, where the boulder comes out. We actually saw that—just throwing that in there. Indiana Jones’s final film hits theaters on June 30.

PLEZi Nutrition

You all know I love our forever First Lady—that’s Michelle Obama, also known as Mrs. Obama to us. So you might remember when she started the Let’s Move! campaign while in the White House. Now she’s a new cofounder of PLEZi Nutrition. It’s a new venture to help raise a healthier generation of kids. Her team is out with a new kids’ drink that has 75 percent less sugar than the leading fruit juices, and it comes in four flavors. That’s a good thing. I ordered some for favorite grandson, Luca, and then favorite daughter Kirby, pointed out that it is specifically for ages 6 and up. So Luca has a few more years before he can try, and I can’t wait for that.

I want to hear from you! Let me know what you think of my list in the comments below. And what should I be looking forward to next month?
