The Princesscore Aesthetic Is on My Mind, so I Dressed as a Princess for the Day

I’ll admit I’ve always wanted to be a princess. As a little girl, I was all about the classic Disney princess (especially Belle from Beauty and the Beast). Something about the fantasy, romance, and whimsical fairytale vibes has just always captured a special place in my heart. My mother and father used to have to sit in costume stores for hours while I would try on princess dresses, put on my plastic version of glass slippers, and twirl around the store pretending like I was a character from one of my favorite princess storybooks. As I’ve grown older, of course, my love for all things princesses has slightly subsided. However, it seems that our interest in all things Meghan Markle and the royal family—and I could never leave out the Bridgerton effect—has reignited many of our desires to add...

Photo: The Stewart of NY/GC Images; @gabunion; Fernando Ramales/Backgrid Confession: I should preface this story by sharing that I have never been a skinny-jeans person. I detest how most denim fits my figure, but there’s something about skinny jeans that irks my soul on a whole new level. I know that’s a controversial take considering how much of a staple this style is, but I stand by it, espec...

If You're Tired of Filling in Your Brows (or Really Bad at It), Read This

I remember when I first discovered that filling in your brows was a thing, and embarrassingly, it was fairly recent. I've always taken a pretty lackadaisical approach to makeup, so it's not surprising I was a bit of a late bloomer in the brow department. Growing up, I was never really into makeup and tended to go the more natural route. But of course, the more I was exposed to it via friends, the internet, what have you, the more I dabbled. And when I did actually start wearing makeup (starting in middle school), let's just say everything was very… experimental. Eventually, I discovered I could fill in my brows. To paint the picture for you, this was also during a time when I was recovering from a base-bump gone wrong, so my hair was a fun shade of yellowish-orange. (I kid.) The art of fil...

I Just Got Rid of So Many Pairs of Shoes—These Are the Ones I Kicked and Kept

As someone who loves shoes, I have a bit of a storage problem. No one has an infinite amount of space for shoes, so we've all been here—I recently found myself at maximum shoe capacity in my closet. And at that point, the only thing left to do is weed out. One of my rules of thumb when it comes to deciding which shoes to get rid of is whether or not they're covered in a thick layer of dust. If the answer is yes, into the donation pile they go. I also take trends and comfort into consideration. That said, it's still difficult parting with shoes, but my best advice is to consider treating yourself to a new pair once you've freed up all that space. After doing the recent shoe clean-out in my own closet, I made several observations that might help to motivate you to do some decluttering of your...
