More than 1 million people have voted early in Georgia

More than one million people have already voted in Georgia's 2022 elections, Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger announced Wednesday."As of Wednesday morning, Georgia is well over the One Million mark with 1,017,732 voters casting their ballot during Early Voting," said Raffensperger, adding, "Georgia has had record Early Voting turnout since the first day of Early Voting this year, surging to nearly twice the number on the first day of Early Voting in 2018." Raffensperger celebrated the milestone on Twitter, congratulating Georgia voters and thanking local election officials. Savannah –  Senate hopefuls Sen. Raphael Warnock and Herschel Walker faced off Friday night in their first and only scheduled debate before the election, addressing a wide range of topics crucial to the state's voters.  Both candidates pledged in their opening statements to be strong advocates for Georgia in Washington. Warnock said he grew up in public housing down the road from where the debate was being held, telling viewers that "only in America is my story possible." The candidates discussed many issues critical to the state, including the economy, election integrity and abortion. Herschel Walker denies paying for a girlfriend’s abortion in 2009

Herschel Walker, the Georgia Republican nominee for Senate, paid for an abortion for a woman he was dating in 2009, The Daily Beast reported Monday night. Walker vehemently denied the story, called it a "flat-out lie" and threatened to sue the outlet. CBS News has not confirmed the allegations and reporting by The Daily Beast.The Daily Beast reported that Walker "urged" the woman to get an abortion because "the time wasn't right for a baby." After she had the procedure, the story says that she received a $700 check from him and a "get well" card.
