While the summer weather is set to stick around a little longer, we are one week closer to fall with school back in session and festival season just around the corner. 

From where to buy cookies to who the finalists for the 2022 Prize Fest are, here’s everything you might have missed this week. 

Food Finds

Nothing quite satisfies a sweet tooth like a great cookie and Shreveport is filled with places to find one. From local bakeries to nationally beloved chains, here’s where you can get fresh-baked cookies in Shreveport. 

Movie Magic 

The Robinson Film Center unveils its newly renovated event space during an open house on August 11, 2022.

The Robinson Film Center recently welcomed a new executive director and now the event space upstairs beside Abby Singer’s Bistro has been completely renovated. Check out the photos from the unveiling of the new space where you can hold your events. 

I know it’s only August, but I’m already getting excited for spooky season and it seems I’m not the only one. While Starbucks is already teasing the return of the famous pumpkin spice latte, a local filmmaker has a new film out that is sure to get you in the Halloween spirit a little early.

The Highland Community Library will have a grand opening and ribbon-cutting on Saturday, August 20, 2022.

The Highland Center in Shreveport have been hard at work creating a new space for kids and adults to get extra learning in all year long. On Saturday, August 20 the new Highland Community Library will open to the public and you’re invited to the unveiling party. 

The fall wedding season is already in full swing and whether you’ve been planning your wedding for a while or you’re recently engaged, finding the perfect venue is one of the biggest stressors for your big day. I’ve round up several great venue options in Shreveport to say “I Do” no matter your style or theme.

Louisiana Food Prize's event Prize Fest 2021: Back in the Streets! was held Friday evening, Oct. 1, 2021, on Texas Street in downtown Shreveport.

One of the most anticipated events of the year in Shreveport is almost here and the announcements for the finalists for the different Prize Fest categories are underway.
